Charles DeBus

Charles DeBus
started his love affair with photography as a child. With the help of a friend's father, he started printing and honing his art form. He was a stringer for UP and AP and a commercial photographer. In the late 60's, he put the commercial work aside and has concentrated on photography as art and photographic teaching. He did his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Dallas and studied with Ansel Adams, Wynn Bullock, Imogen Cunningham, Robert Heinecken and Jerry Uelsman. He currently is the Senior Lecturer in Photography at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

DeBus has exhibited since 1960 both nationally and internationally. His work is included in numerous private and public collections.

With over 40 years of photographic experience, DeBus is well versed in 35 mm as well as large format cameras and techniques. He is experienced in teaching rank beginners as well as graduate students. He works with each student to bring out their particular strength and design sense.
